 The evocation of lower spirits is not traditionally something done in Wicca. Many believe there is no need for it, that the God and Goddess are powerful enough to aide you in your magick. Others see the lower (Qliphotic) spirits as gateways to true understanding of self. To master these lower spirits, was to master the inner depths of the subconsious mind. Wether you think of them as parts of your self (dark side), or seperate entities is irrelevant, because the effect is the same. Evocation is not for dabblers. Until you have reasonable clairvoyance and clairaudient abilities, it should probably not even be considered. There is a reason that a coven will many times have a probational period of a year and a day before even an invitation to the Esbats. The practice of magick was slowly imparted to the new initiate. The first task is to master the elements.
